ThunderSquid Incorporated was founded in 2005.
ThunderSquid licenses entertainment content for distribution throughout global cell phone networks, targeted at an 8-35 year old demographic.
We enjoy working with top creators and animators in the entertainment industry. Our relationship with intellectual property creators is based on a fundamental concept of fairness. The creator maintains full creative control and also retains all rights to his/her project.
ThunderSquid works with the creator to establish a “brand” for the property via wireless distribution, whose rights can then be further exploited for the creator’s benefit through other media such as film, television and merchandising.
The principles of ThunderSquid uniquely combine strong business, creative, marketing and legal experience in both the entertainment and wireless industry:
John N. McHattie is a seasoned entrepreneur with 30 years global experience in Europe, Asia, North America and Africa. John has been a business mentor in the UK digital media sector for the past 15 years and has been actively acquiring and developing wireless gaming and media content for over 7 years. He has strong international marketing experience across several business sectors and a keen awareness of the connection among product, customers and the global marketplace.
Frank M. Lunn has 17 years experience in the entertainment community, including 11 years experience as a top-tier entertainment attorney in film, television and new media. Frank works with a wide variety of studios, production companies and creators in the animation industry. He is a former business and legal affairs executive for Saban Entertainment, Fox Family, Touchstone and ABC. Frank also has been outside counsel for DreamWorks Television, DreamWorks Animation, ABC Family and the Disney Channel.
ThunderSquid is initially looking for completed animation content, although we have plans to fund the production of various animation projects in the future.
The ideal content for our distribution model consists of episodic work 1-3 minutes in length. Although recurring characters and scenarios are welcomed, each episode should stand on its own, and a minimum of 10 episodes is requested (i.e., 10-30 minutes of animation).
