Technology has expanded the possibilities for independent film production beyond what anyone could have imagined, yet most individuals still work in isolation with very little encouragement or support.
Imagine a diverse community of creative artists, united by a love of self-expression in the form of animation. A meeting place where pencils and computers rub shoulders, a network where the independent animation community shares ideas & produces new work. This is the Animation Co-op... a creative community in which a diversity of independent animation expression is supported and celebrated!
The Co-op serves the animation community by promoting independent production, distribution and education. By exchanging ideas, screening works in progress, providing network venues and maintaining a database of projects and resources, we provide opportunities for our fellow artists and filmmakers to grow and thrive in one of the least supported, most demanding but ultimately most gratifying forms of independent expression.

Our OBJECTIVES...
Community: Animation Co-op chapters exist in cities across the United States, with an international mailing list. Live events such as project pitches, screenings, lectures and social mixers encourage direct networking, while an online discussion forum provides remote community.
Production: The Animation Co-op facilitates the creation of independent animation projects in all formats and media, serving as a hub of resources, collaboration and distribution. An online project database charts the production needs of Co-op participants.
Education: The Animation Co-op sponsors seminars, lectures and panels on a variety of subjects related to independent animation, benefiting both the Co-op membership and the community at large.
